The body color of the West Indian manatee changes from gray to brown. Although there are differences in length and weight, on average, adult manatees can grow up to 3 meters long and weigh 454 kilograms. Among marine mammals, they are quite unique animals. Scientists have identified two subspecies, namely the Florida Sea located on the southeastern coast of the United States and the Antilles manatee located on the coasts of the Greater Antilles, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Atlantic coast of Central and South America.
